Shell approached our team with the challenge of revitalizing their social media accounts. How can an energy/petrochemical company create an online community and engage with their audience?
Our team analyzed current data within Shell and we found that Shell gas stations were known for having the best lighting for photos. Our audience were taking pictures at gas stations with their vehicles, so every month we began not only highlighting those cars but their stories. With thoughtful and striking animations we were able to bring these narratives to life and content series such as Ride of The Month was born. I led the video editing/motion design for Ride of the Month content for the past two years and assisted with photo retouching and video editing for Shell content since 2022.
Organic social and paid social was the highest performer of all channels and sales, the Hero team broke record engagement levels for the account, with a 286% increase in social engagement and a 95% increase in new followers. This translated into increased acquisitions, foot traffic, sales and brand loyalty. Ride of the Month then evolved to Ride of the Year with hundreds of submissions every year.Â
